Selecting the most Onerous Design Loadcase

The member design will be dependent upon the Loadcase selected and, for members where lateral restraint positions have been defined, the portion selected. By default, the software will consider all design cases and all member portions when carrying out the member design. The software will then display the most critical results for each member.

To view the results for other portions in any member, select the portions using the  drop down. Where only a single portion exists, only Portion 1 will be displayed in the drop down.

To view the design results for other loadcases for any particular member, the "Automatically select the most critical loading case" option needs to be turned off. This is done by clicking on the  icon. With this icon un-highlighted, the load case drop down  can now be used to select any of the ultimate loading cases.

The  tool works on a member by member basis, so to disable this option for several members, each member has be selected in turn and the  unchecked for each member in turn.
