The simple base plate connection is based on the base plate design from SCI P358 and also SCI P398. Thus this connection can be designed as either a simple of a moment connection, depending upon the applied forces input.
The inputs are identical to those of the moment-resisting base plate connection, outlined in the Moment Connections part of this manual. Therefore, for details on the use of this connection, reference should be made to the Base Plate section of the Moment Connections chapter.
