Edit

The Edit menu provides a number of tools for adding or amending Project Title and Job Numbers, adding, copying and deleting design briefs and options to import design briefs from other existing connection files. The Edit menu also provides options to sort the design briefs or to delete multiple briefs. A number of these tools are also available through the toolbar menu. See the Toolbar Buttons section for further details.

The layout of the Edit menu is shown below.

Edit Project Titles & Job Ref

Opens the Job and Project Reference pop-up. The inputs available are the Project Title, Job Reference, Sheet Reference, Made By and Checked By entries. These are used in the calculation sheet title-blocks.

Add a New Brief

Opens the Add New Connection Selector pop-up, which is shown below.

The type of connection to be added is selected by selecting the required connection type from the tabs and selecting the required radio button. Once done, click on the  icon.

Copy and Append Current Brief

Copy and Append brief. Creates a new brief which is a copy of the current selected brief.

Delete Current Brief

Deletes the currently viewed connection brief.

Import a Brief from another file

The Import a Brief from another file function allows a connection design which has already been set up in another file to be imported into the current file. The import will include the connection type, geometry, section and loading information. Where multiple connection design briefs exist within a file, the software allows individual design briefs to be selected, allowing for the import of single or multiple briefs from another file.

On selecting the Import a Brief from another file, the File Selector window will open. The location of the files from which the design briefs are to be imported is selected from the left hand column. The file is selected in the central column. Once the required file is selected, click on the  icon. This will open the Import Brief window, which will list the available connection brief titles. The title displayed is the input title given to each connection brief in the file from which the briefs are to be imported. The files are selected by clicking on the corresponding check boxes. One the required brief(s) are selected,

Import all Brief from another file

Similar to to the Import a Brief from another file, this option allows connection design briefs to be imported from anther file. With this option, however,

Sort Briefs

Provides a mechanism to re-order the connection briefs within a connection file. When this option is selected the Sort Design Briefs screen will appear, which list the design briefs currently contained within the currently open file The design briefs are listed in current order. The design brief title is displayed to assist in identify a brief. Individual briefs can be re-ordered by clicking on the brief and while holding the left hand mouse button, drag the brief to the required location in the list. Multiple briefs can also be dragged to a new location by selecting multiple briefs (Ctrl+Left mouse button to select multiple briefs by selecting individually, or using Shift+Left and mouse button to select multiple briefs in a list)

Sort Briefs by Type

This option will automatically reorder the connection design briefs in a connection file by grouping the design briefs according to connection type.

See ALL Briefs to Full View

Automatically reset the graphical view on all connection briefs within the currently opened design file.

Delete Range

This option provides a mechanism to delete multiple design briefs from a connection design file. Selecting this option opens the Delete Range of Joints pop-up. The range of briefs to be deleted is specified by input the range of the brief number. A single brief is specified by inputting a range with the same start and end brief.

Design briefs can also be deleted by going to Sort Brief, highlighting the design briefs to be deleted and then clicking on the  icon.
