The Bearing Lengths and Distance to Bearings for both axes can be altered in the Axialwith Moments tab. All other forces, moments, shears and member lengths are carriedover from the analysis, therefore the user cannot change these values in the design partof the program.
For beams with a timber flooring on top, a vibration check can be carried out by entering the Young's Modulus, and the thickness and mass of the decking along with the floor width and beam spacing.
The type of loading and beam restraint condition can be added for the beam buckling check.
Having set up all criteria that will influence the member design, the beams can now bedesigned. This can be carried out manually by changing the beam section size on theMaterials and Specification tab, until it passes all checks.
Alternatively, the design can be carried out automatically. See the Auto and Manual Design options.
