Lean-tos

You can define lean-tos for both sides of the structure or one side only. You can have both sides identical, or define them separately. Note that the Global Symmetry and In-Bay Symmetry are overridden by the symmetry buttons on the lean-to tab.

Makes both sides identical (definition is required for one side only)

Define the left side lean-to

Define the right side lean-to

Using the Lean-to table, you can define the span of the lean-to, the rise of the rafter, the levels of the top and base of the column, and the section sizes. Scrolling on down the table will allow you to input the dead, service, and live loads, as well as the base fixities (applicable only if the 'As is' condition is selected) and the fixities for the outer and inner ends of the rafter. If the load entries are left blank they will default to the loads for the portal rafters.

The final section of the table allows you to edit the outer and inner haunch length, depth ratio, and parapet height and section, if required.

Note:- If the symmetry button is not selected then the details of each lean-to must be entered separately.
