Mezzanine Floors

The Mezzanine tab works in conjunction with the Props tab, giving you the ability to generate mezzanine floors with supporting columns going either to the underside of the floor only, or carrying on up to the underside of the rafters. Specify the floor height, section size and area loading. Selecting the Pin Ends option will release the ends of all the floor members.

Add props to the floors and rafters as required, specifying section sizes and base fixities. It is possible to release (pin) the top of the prop if required so it takes no moment at this position, and to specify whether the prop stops at mezzanine level, or continues to the underside of the rafter. It is assumed the floor loads are spanning from main frame to main frame (North-South direction). If you want the floor loading to span at 90 degrees to this direction select the EW button .

If there are variations in the spans, select the Variable Spans option to specify the alternate floor levels, section sizes and loading. You can also omit spans between props where required.
