Introduction

The simplified MasterPort interface for portal frames will allow easy generation of 3D portals, including symmetrical and asymmetrical frames, mono-pitches, mansards, northlights, propped frames and lean-tos. To these canopies, parapets, mezzanine floors and crane loads can be added. Horizontal and vertical diagonal bracing, longitudinal ties and gable posts are finally positioned to complete the full 3D structure.

Gravity, crane, wind and snow loads are added as the frame is developed, with ultimate and service loadcases being automatically generated. Purlins and cladding rails can be added to produce a 3D picture of the structural elements.

If you have MasterPort but not the full MasterPort Plus then many of the 3D editing and design functions will not be available. In this case you can develop and design a plane portal frame with additional 2D frame features - mezzanine floors, props, etc.
